Spain, or as it is officially referred to as ‘The Kingdom of Spain’, is one of the member states that make up the European Union. It is a sovereign state located somewhere on the Iberian Peninsula, on the southwest region of Europe. Spain’s mainland is bordered mainly by the Mediterranean Sea. Both to the south and to the east are the Mediterranean Sea. However, there is a very small portion that is bordered by Gibraltar which is one of the British overseas Territories. Spain is located to the east of Portugal and to the southeast of the huge Atlantic Ocean.
