Indian festivals are perhaps some of the most colorful and beautiful in the world marked by dance, song, and elaborate displays of Indian culture.
- January 1: English New Years Day
Indian media covers a great amount of New Years celebrations on New Years Day and people celebrate this ocassion by attending many parties and night clubs as well as attending a festive and superbly colorful parade. During New Years, there is a lot of dancing and wearing of colorful garments. The streets are full of music and lights and people old and young enjoy traditional Indian dishes and a feat of beautiful firework displays right before the New Year rings in.
The Republic of India is one of the countries located in Asia, particularly south of Asia. One of the very unique features with India is the geographical area it covers. It has in fact been ranked as the 7th largest country in the world. With a population of about 1.3 billion, it has been ranked as the 2nd most populous state in the world. Generally speaking, India is by far the most populous democracy in the world. This is one of its most unique features. India is border by two main seas.
